Post APP FOR DYSLEXIC CHILDREN
The Madras Dyslexia Association has come up with an assistive-reading app for Dyslexic Children, that allows a person to read a text at their pace.

The MDA Avaz Reader App comes wih an optical character-recognition technology. The app can be downloaded from playstore on mobile phones.

It was designed by Invention Labs a start-up founded by Ajit Narayanan and alumunus of IIT, MAdras.

What is Assistive Device?
An Assistive Device is any device that helps someone do something that they might not otherwise be able to do well or at all. Generally the term is used for devices that help people overcome a handicap such as a mobility, vision, mental, dexterity or hearing loss.


Who are Dyslexic Children ?
Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). Also called reading disability, dyslexia affects areas of the brain that process language


What is optical Character Recognition ?
Optical character recognition (OCR) refers to both the technology and process of reading and converting typed, printed or handwritten characters into machine-encoded text or something that the computer can manipulate.


The App is available for free trial from today for 5 days.

It is proposed to distribute these apps to 2000 Government School teachers who can help at least 10 students.
